Modular “redline” Adapter System

"redline" base unit for use with exchange cartridges "TC 30" or exchange plates "TS 410". 

An internal plug interface connects these cartridges or exchange plates with the test system. The interface is equipped with 6 ea. 96-pole VG terminal strips. Interfaces for all common test systems are available. The system can be driven pneumatically or manually. Our example shows the “redline” base unit with exchange cartridge “TC 30”. The cartridges can be exchanged in just a few seconds. A retainer (hold-down) system presses the PCB onto the spring pins during the contacting step, thus avoiding any movements of the wiring between the measuring points and internal interface.

The test specimen remains under contact while the adapter is open, which makes debugging considerably easier because the tester has free access to the sleeves of the measuring probes and tester interface.

The exchange cartridge consists of the spring-pin support plate (PAP) and the retainer (hold-down) system NH30 – both units constitute a fully enclosed and functional contacting unit. After exchanging the cartridge the adapter is ready for testing again.

The standard cartridge can be replaced with an exchange cartridge at any time. The retainer frame is also an integral part of the base unit.  The exchange plate adjusts in accordance with the PCB to be tested.

The hold-down pins can be adjusted individually in an x-y direction for each test specimen, or the complete retaining (hold-down) plate can be adjusted and inserted in the hold-down frame. After inserting the exchange plate and adjusting the retainer the adapter is ready for testing.
